ALUBUBBLE

USE
ALUBUBBLE is waterproof and will act as an excellent vapour barrier once all the joints are foil tape sealed. For use in attics, walls and floors.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
ALUBUBBLE is a multi-layer air bubble insulation with reflective aluminium foil on either 1 or 2 sides. This effective form of insulation works by the trapped pockets of air within its structure and by the reflective surface of the foil layers. The foil works with the air space to enormously decrease heat loss.
PART 1 - INTRODUCTION
ALUBUBBLE is very effective on top of attic trapdoors, around cold water tanks and behind garage doors. The single foil bubble is especially effective under single skin roof panels.
For best results, ALUBUBBLE should be installed with an air space on both sides of the insulation. The foil must not be painted or coated and the reflective surface should be positioned between warm and cold surfaces perpendicular to the heat flow direction.

ALUBUBBLE - Flexible around any shape or surface
PART 2 - USAGE
2.1 Existing Walls
Staple the ALUBUBBLE vertically to the battens, joining on the batten. Seal the joints with foil tape and fix the outer lining.

2.2 Cavity Walls
Fix horizontally to the inner leaf of the wall with plastic retaining clips and ties set at regular spacings. The foil should face towards the cavity and allow the the joins to overlap by 150 - 200mm. Complete the outer wall.

ALUBUBBLE Equivalent to 65mm of Polystyrene with air space.

ALUBUBBLE Equivalent to 30mm of Polystyrene with no air space.
2.3 Roof Spaces
Fit horizontally to the rafters and tape seal the joints. Fit horizontally to the roof trusses beginning at the eaves and working up to the apex, allowing a 150mm overlap.
Equivalent to 55mm of Polystyrene.
2.4 Under Floors
Fit horizontally to the underside of the floor joists and tape seal the joints.
Equivalent to 120mm of Polystyrene under floors.
PART 3 - TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
3.1 Construction
A laminated structure made with aluminium foil coated with an ultra-thin polyethylene to give durability and corrosion resistance without reducing the insulation properties. Coextruded polyethyelene air bubble made from six layers of PE film provides strength, rigidity for ease of use and handling and effective insulation performance.
ALUBUBBLE is CFC free, non-toxic, non-carcinogenic and does not promote the growth of fungi or bacteria.

PART 4 - HANDLING & STORAGE
The rolls should be kept in the original bag and stored on end in clean dry conditions until ready for use. Keep away from naked flames or other flammable materials. Observe normal safety procedures when cutting the foil with a knife or scissors. No special breathing apparatus is necessary as the foil is clean and free from dust or fibre particles.
