PART 1 - INTRODUCTION

EcoQuilt is a 14-layer quilted insulation blanket style material which features reinforced reflective outer layers interspersed with insulation foam, added reflective layers and bonded PET fibre webs.

In response to extensive market research with installers, it is uniquely being produced at 1200mm wide to suit Irish standard structural and studding timber centres.

To add even further to ease of fixing, there is a 25mm wide overlapping flange on each edge.

Unique to EcoQuilt, the overlapping flange is heat-sealed making it the easiest product in its class to handle and fix.

Utilising technologies developed for the space exploration programmes and building on wide acceptance in many European countries, this new product is truly environmentally friendly. It contains over 70%-recycled materials.

PART 2 - DESCRIPTION

EcoQuilt is dust and fibre free and is thus ideal for attic conversions providing insulation that can reduce heat loss through an uninsulated roof by over 70% while affording huge space savings as it is only 25mm in thickness.

It is the perfect insulation for underfloor heating systems reflecting heat into the house floor and not into the ground.

EcoQuilt offers the best of both worlds as it keeps the home warm in winter and cool in summer.

Unlike traditional insulation materials that thin out and degrade over time, EcoQuilt retains its properties permanently.

Further varieties combining webs of reflective foil bubble and the option of natural wool fleece layers will expand the range on offer over the coming months.

The EcoQuilt project was supported and funded by Enterprise Ireland's Envirocentre initiative to assist with the development of Environmentally Superior Products (ESP).

PART 3 - PROPERTIES

• Withstands temperatures from -40°C and +80°C but must not come into contact with heat sources.
• Durable - the reinforced layers prevent sagging away from fixings.
• Minimises the risk of condensation.
• Dust free, non-irritant, hypoallergenic, and CFC Free - no special clothing or masks needed.
• Does not promote the growth of fungi or the nesting of rodents.
• Acoustic reduction - acts as a noise reduction barrier.
• Eliminates Thermal Bridging around roof lights.
• Over 70% reduction in U value over uninsulated roof.
• Save up to €160 per annum on a typical house.
